What happened Nov 3. was not karma. It was not luck. It was not the work of the father of lies. It was the Lord of the heavens who spoke. And you know what He said? God is not mocked. God will not give His glory to no other. Hate is not a fruit of the Spirit.
The Pharisees were prepared to stone the woman caught in adultery. And they wanted Jesus to go along with them. And we know what Jesus said. And when Stephen was stoned, the witnesses laid down their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul (Saul had a day of reckoning ahead of him). Why would any man of God condone a public execution?
America is not a nation whose God is the Lord, but God is the Creator of all.
A nation whose God is the Lord
Psalm 33
Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous!
For praise from the upright is beautiful.
Praise the Lord with the harp;
Make melody to Him with an instrument of ten strings.
Sing to Him a new song;
Play skillfully with a shout of joy.
For the word of the Lord is right,
And all His work is done in truth.
He loves righteousness and justice;
The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.
By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
And all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.
He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap;
He lays up the deep in storehouses.
Let all the earth fear the Lord;
Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.
For He spoke, and it was done;
He commanded, and it stood fast.
The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing;
He makes the plans of the peoples of no effect.
The counsel of the Lord stands forever,
The plans of His heart to all generations.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
The people He has chosen as His own inheritance.
The Lord looks from heaven;
He sees all the sons of men.
From the place of His dwelling He looks
On all the inhabitants of the earth;
He fashions their hearts individually;
He considers all their works.
No king is saved by the multitude of an army;
A mighty man is not delivered by great strength.
A horse is a vain hope for safety;
Neither shall it deliver any by its great strength.
Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him,
On those who hope in His mercy,
To deliver their soul from death,
And to keep them alive in famine.
Our soul waits for the Lord;
He is our help and our shield.
For our heart shall rejoice in Him,
Because we have trusted in His holy name.
Let Your mercy, O Lord, be upon us,
Just as we hope in You.
There is a famine in the land – a famine of the true gospel of Jesus Christ. Grown men, men who know the Scriptures are groaning because of the Nov. 3. They say, their world changed overnight. My question is, “What world were they living in the day before?”
“Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord God,
“That I will send a famine on the land,
Not a famine of bread,
Nor a thirst for water,
But of hearing the words of the Lord.
They shall wander from sea to sea,
And from north to east;
They shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the Lord,
But shall not find it.” Amos 8
“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it (Matthew 7:13-14).”
The Scriptures teach us many things. And every verse is subjected to interpretation and debate. Most scripture interpretation is bias. And that’s by the folks who believe in God, have trusted the Son of God as Savior, and call Him Lord. We are to walk humbly with our God.
