    John 14:15-20

“If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father and he will give you another Helper, that he may be with you for evermore, the Spirit of truth, whom the world is not able to receive, because it does not see him nor know him; you surely know him, for he abides with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. Soon the world will no longer see me, but you surely will see me; because I live, you also will surely live. In that day you will indeed know that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.”

The Word tells me I do not walk alone…but sometimes the trials of life…gosh…as purposeful as they are…it feels like God is only working on me. Still…I know that He is just working all things for His purpose.

    Rich Mullins once sang…

    “…There’s people been friendly
But they’d never be your friends
Sometimes this has bent me to the ground…”

Can you imagine seeking the Word of the Lord…and not finding it???

As it is in this late hour… truth is hard to find. Not being able to find the Word will be like looking for water to quench your thirst and finding that someone has cut off your access to water.

I can’t help but recall those old western movies where ranchers and farmers would scheme and battle, sometimes to the death, over access to water…yes…water rights. They were that important…

Amos, tells us that God will cut all access to His word. No one will be able to find it. In America there are churches in every corner…some preach truth,  others preach their interpretation of the truth…the others are becoming more popular.

If by chance, or divine appointment, people thirst for truth today…they may still find truth. They may find living water…or a facsimile thereof. Still, we have confidence that if the Word of God goes out it will never come back void.

God is calling out His children and His children hear His voice. He knows them by name. God is talking. Are we ready to listen, or are we fixed on something else?
