Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. Ephesians 1:15-21
Albeit Scripture reads easy, but understanding the Scriptures is not easy for anyone. If it were, Christians would be of one mind. Doctrinal differences would not be so spread out. I find the NT much easier to read and understand than the OT. But, in the days of Jesus the keepers of the Law knowing the Law, could not understand or accept Jesus and His teachings. I think it is that way today. God desires the heart of man. Sounds clear enough. What does that mean? I don’t believe evangelicals have a clue as to what that means. I am confident that Christian nationalism is not gospel. I am confident that because there is a variety of theological beliefs that not a one of them hits the mark.
There are a handful of online biblical teachers whose teachings I would follow. Yet many more that I find questionable. Finding meaningful discussion of Scripture, online, is impossible. Celebrity pastors Facebook pages are nothing but a gathering place for trolls. This online problem though not specific to online discussions, was quickly identified by AI technology. Christians online and in person fail to:
- Maintain respectful dialogue: Engage in patient and respectful discussion, rather than allowing disagreements to cause division and animosity.
- Emphasize humility and grace: Approach disagreements with humility and grace, recognizing that complete agreement on every detail is unlikely, but unity is still possible.
Until next time…
